These are some toys and gifts that I love. Either buy them for your own toddler or gift them to another:
1. Automoblox - are the cars that are construction systems and are seriously cool. They are beautifully designed and they encourage creativity and imagination in kids. There are several different cars but all the pieces are interchangeable so your child can create the car of their dreams. Automoblox make trucks, sports cars, convertibles, classic cars and all are made of high quality beech wood. These cars will last years and years and will become quite the show-off collection. They cost around £25 each and are suitable from 3 years +.

2. Scooters - you can't beat a scooter. I haven't yet come across a toddler who doesn't like a scooter. The coolest ones on the market are the mini-micro t-bar scooters. They've got three wheels which give great balance. They used to be available in blue and pink only but recently they have launched 3 limited edition colours - red, green and yellow. These scooters are suitable from 2 years onwards and cost around £50 and would make a fantastic 2nd birthday present for boy or girl.
3. Rocking horses - again a hot favourite with toddlers. And if you're thinking of the giant old fashioned rocking horses, think again! While some of them are beautiful, they take up a lot of room. You can get some fantastic modern rocking horses like Rosa and Olga by the German company Sirch. Their clean lines and simplicity make them show pieces that you'll want to show-off to your visitors. They're suitable from 18 months to 2 years onwards and cost approximately 100 - 115 euros. They are on the expensive side so I would recommend this as a birthday or Christmas present.
4. Lego - it's not new, it's been around for ages but some toys never go out of fashion and lego is definitely one of them. You can buy lego duplo which are the larger blocks that are suitable for 1 to 5 year olds. They come in bright, vivd colours making them very attractive and you can get a box of duplo for £10. You can also keep adding to this collection as your child grows and becomes more creative.
5. Kitchens - toddles love to copy their parents and indulge in imaginary play. So why not get them a mini kitchen where they can pretend to cook along side you! There are several available on the market but I am a fan of the wooden ones. I particularly like the Daisy cooker by Djeco which has an oven, hob and sink and is brightly coloured in yellows and greens. It's not very large and also comes with some pans and utensils. It costs around £70 and is suitable from 4 years onwards
